Who I Am
As a global executive in the cement manufacturing industry, I have lived and worked in several countries in Europe, Middle East, the Americas, Asia, and Africa.
My fluency in five languages – Arabic, English, French, German, and Spanish – and my outgoing personality make it easy for me to communicate and build relationships with people from diverse backgrounds. This has proven to be a significant advantage in the cement manufacturing industry, where cultural and political environment understanding is essential to success.
I hold dual Master’s degrees in Engineering and Business Administration from Germany and have pursued lifelong learning, including the “Program for Executive Development” at IMD Business School and the “Advanced Management Program” at Harvard Business School.
My expertise in engineering and commissioning of integrated cement plants, corporate training and learning, start-up of new businesses, post merging and restructuring of organizations has been honed over 35 years of executive experience. As a CEO, for the last five years, I have successfully led the turnaround of two cement companies in Sudan and Ethiopia under very complex conditions.
